We are glad you are here. We will try not to bore you and we will tell you something about our history and our immediate plans for the future as briefly as possible.
PREMIUM Insurance Company Limited is an insurance and reinsurance company that was founded in 2015 in the UK (Gibraltar). It was licensed to provide insurance and reinsurance in 2016, and in 2019, due to the so-called BREXIT, it relocated its European Union headquarters to the Republic of Malta in order to maintain the insurance company's access to the single European market. In 2022, the company widened its Freedom of Services territories to include Germany, Austria, Hungary, Poland and Croatia with the intent to capture risks in these territories with Slovak and Czech interests.
The sole, 100% owner of the insurance company is the Slovak company PREMIUM INVESTMENT GROUP, s.r.o., whose ownership structure is fully transparent, and registered in the Register of Public Sector Partners of the Slovak Republic, which is accessible to all.
We have been operating in the Slovak market since 2016 through our Branch PREMIUM Poisťovňa Slovakia, offering insurance solutions for corporate clients, insurance for entrepreneurs, home insurance for individuals and home insurance for residential buildings. Right from its establishment, our insurance company has gained a number of business partners and clients with its quality products and positive approach to collaborate and deliver, and the number of clients is still growing. In the past year, our turnover in corporate and business insurance exceeded EUR 23 million, making us an increasingly important insurance company in the Slovak market in this segment. Since the beginning we have been building a diverse and experienced team of insurance professionals.
Their experience, insight and the space for self-realization that our insurance company provides them with, co-create a team that has been rewarded for its efforts not only by the satisfaction of our clients, but also, for example, by the prestigious award for 1st place in the competition SASP AWARD 2021 in the category of property and liability insurance for entrepreneurs and companies, which is awarded by the Slovak Association of Insurance Intermediaries.
PREMIUM has been operating in the Czech market since 2017 under a Freedom of Services licence. We are very proud to announce that we have solidified further our presence on the Czech Republic insurance market, through the establishment of a Branch.
In 2020, Jan Klíma, who has devoted his entire career to the insurance of business and corporate risks, joined our insurance company and took on a new challenging task to prepare and coordinate the establishment and launch of our insurance company's Branch in the Czech Republic in cooperation with colleagues from the underwriting, insurance administration, legal, claims and other teams.
May 19, 2023, is a significant date on our calendar. This is the date on which we have been granted authorisation to establish a Branch in the Czech Republic. We are pleased to announce that the Branch has been successfully registered in the Czech Commercial Register under registration number: 19686030, as from 01 October 2023 and we are looking forward to welcome you in our offices.
PREMIUM Pojišt'ovna offers a wide range of products for corporate clients on the Czech market, from property insurance, machinery insurance, business interruption insurance to various types of liability insurance. It is gradually expanding its non-life insurance services to other market segments.
We are also registered in the List of Qualified Suppliers maintained by the Ministry of Regional Development, which enables us to participate in public procurement.
Since our inception, we have focused on building relationships and developing cooperation with insurance intermediaries. "We are aware that our business is largely dependent on relationships with partners, clients and other insurance companies. Therefore, we strive to build relationships based on trust and openness. We are and want to be a reliable partner."
Financial stability, solvency and sufficient insurance capacity are important pillars of an insurance company. Our reinsurers Swiss RE, Hannover Re, Polish Re (a member of the Fairfax financial group), VIG Re, which are part of a reinsurance program with a minimum rating of "A" by the international rating companies Standard & Poor's and AM Best, help significantly to meet the requirements of solvency and financial strength.
PREMIUM Insurance Company Limited is authorised and supervised by the Malta Financial Services Authority. The Czech Republic Branch is also supervised by the Czech National Bank.
